Commission FAQ
How often do you take commissions?
I usually have commissions open, but depending on how many projects I'm working on, I may not be able to take new ones at the moment. Fill out the form above and we can chat and hopefully work something out!
How much is a commission?
It depends! It mostly depends on size, but the price can vary slightly depending on how detailed the painting is. Listed below are the AVERAGE prices. I will be able to give you an exact price* once we discuss what you're looking for, along with looking at inspiration photos/references. Commissions are priced slightly higher than my other paintings due to extra time they take to complete. A few examples of standard sizes are:

11"x14" $350
18"x24" $675

24"x36" $1300

30"x40" $1600
36"x48" $2000

I require a 50% down-payment for all commissions. This is to cover the cost of supplies, along with reserving the time it will take to work on the commission.
*This excludes shipping fees, which will vary depending on size, weight, and time frame. Pickup is also an option for those nearby.

How long will the painting take to complete?
Commissioned pieces will take between 1-2 months. You can email me if you absolutely need a piece by a certain date and I can see whether it is possible to complete, or if it is less urgent we will just discuss the timeline in more detail once your piece is ordered. I will do my best to work with you throughout the process!
What if I'm unhappy with the finished piece?
I will, of course, do whatever I can (within reason) to make sure you are happy with the final piece. If you wish, I can email you some progress shots throughout to try to prevent any awkward situations later on!

If it comes to the absolute worst case scenario and you hate the piece, I will not charge you for the remainder of the piece, but will not refund the down-payment. After all, time and supplies are costly. I hold the right to post the piece for sale on my website.
Who owns the rights to the completed piece?
I, the artist, retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to commissioned and original paintings. I retain the right to make REPRODUCTIONS OF ANY AND ALL ARTWORK I CREATE UNLESS THE COLLECTOR HAS PURCHASED THE FULL OR PARTIAL RIGHTS TO THE ARTWORK (this is in addition to purchasing the original).
The Collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.

If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media I only ask for credit (and congratulations! that means your home is super beautiful!).
When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business, but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting. Some collectors chose to purchase my right to reproduce the artwork to ensure it will never become a print. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in, and we can talk further about your options!
